Rhonda C. Torchio
Pediatric Mental Health
Expert in Complex Mood Disorders, Brain Health, and Integrative Psychiatry
Rhonda Torchio was born and raised in Roseboro, North Carolina and has dedicated her entire career to caring for children, adolescents, and families across the state. She graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science and a minor in Chemistry, and later completed her Master of Medical Sciences at Duke University’s Physician Assistant Program.
Rhonda has more than 17 years of experience in pediatrics, beginning her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at ABC Pediatrics and later returning as a Physician Assistant after completing her graduate training. Her extensive background in primary care laid the foundation for her holistic, family-centered approach to medicine, with a strong focus on prevention, development, and whole-child wellness.
Over the years, Rhonda developed a deep interest in pediatric behavioral and mental health as she witnessed the growing need for early, accessible support. She has been treating mental health conditions in children and teens for several years, integrating evidence-based care, developmental insight, and collaborative communication with families and schools. Her primary care experience gives her a unique ability to understand how physical, emotional, and developmental factors intersect.
Rhonda strives to provide compassionate, individualized care for conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood concerns, school stressors, and behavioral challenges. She is committed to helping children and adolescents feel heard, supported, and empowered—while partnering closely with parents to create meaningful, sustainable treatment plans.
When she’s not caring for patients, Rhonda enjoys playing the piano and watching football with her husband. Although she trained at Duke, she proudly remains a dedicated NC State fan.
