Meet Lori Thompson, NP-C

Lori is an Adult Nurse Practitioner that has worked as a mental health provider for the past 8 years after having a vast experience working in critical care, primary care and nursing education. She works diligently to improve a patients quality of life and has found that mental health is one of the areas of medicine that impacts all other aspects of personal health. She has a deep understanding that mental health impacts physical health and partners with her patients to develop a conservative and holistic plan for patients to regain quality of life through medications, lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, social, spiritual, and community support. Her approach to patient care is both holistic and integrative as she focuses on treating the entire person and not a diagnosis or symptoms all while providing evidence based care. She desires to support, teach, empower, and equip patients to be able to achieve their goals and live without the stigma and burden of mental illness. Lori’s compassion, empathy, patience, and desire to listen and understand her patients needs makes her a trusted and respected provider in the mental health field.

Lori has a Master’s Degree in Critical Care Nursing and Adult Nurse Practitioner certificate from Arizona State University. She moved to the Raleigh area 20 years ago from KC and yes, is definitely a Chiefs fan. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, serving at church, traveling, playing the piano, cross stitching, and walking/hiking.

We are using Athena for all of our virtual appointments. Connect with Lori here .
