Brea Washington is a board-certified nurse practitioner who is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended UNC-Greensboro for her undergraduate nursing degree and minors in psychology and public health. After gaining experience in various nursing specialties, she decided to further her education and she earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing from South University specializing as an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. She worked as a nurse practitioner in an urgent care and occupational health setting which provided mental and physical health services to those in the local community including military personnel. During this time, she had a realization that her passion for providing overall wellness care to those in her community has always been rooted in mental health.
Therefore, she decided to pursue additional certification from Maryville University as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. She was raised in an urban community that often dismissed the idea of seeking mental health services due to the fear of judgment and/or mental illness being viewed as a weakness. She is passionate about changing this mindset by educating those in her community about the benefits of utilizing mental health resources and providing her patients with holistic care. She has experience with managing a variety of mental health conditions including but not limited to anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, sleep disorders, PTSD, and ADHD for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
She considers herself to be very humble, down-to-earth, and people-friendly. She is also a wife and mother who enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, trying new food recipes, binge-watching television series, and crafting during her free time

After working in multiple specialties of medicine for over 20 years, Angie has seen first -hand how a patient’s mental health impacts healing and well-being. Her experience as a surgical nurse while in the US Airforce prepared her to help patients recover from traumatic events. Helping patients struggling to heal physically instilled in her a passion to support them emotionally, mentally and spiritually as well. It became very clear to her that mental and physical health are interrelated and both essential to a person’s overall well-being. This realization led her to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in April of 2017. While working in a mental health hospital setting, she has had the privilege of developing evidence-based treatment plans that have been pivotal in changing people’s lives for their betterment. She feels fortunate to be able to combine her compassion and her medical training to help her patients live the healthy productive lives they deserve and envision for themselves. “It’s an honor to be trusted by someone in a difficult place in their life and I view it as my mission to serve those individuals whole-heartedly and with a holistic approach that addresses a healthy mind and body.
Angie provides a patient centered, integrated care where she collaborates with other medical experts on her team to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Her interest in mental health started when she was a child, navigating her own family's struggles with mental health and seeing firsthand the huge impact it can have on a person's life. This Led her to pursue a college course in psychology while in high school, where she was inspired by a wonderful teacher to begin her pursuit of psychology and medicine. Antonia began working as a medical assistant, accumulating nearly 5 years of patient care experience before she became a provider. She completed a bachelor's of science in Neuroscience at George Mason University in Virginia, during which she also worked as a research assistant for a study on Alzheimer's dementia. Dr. Lucy Magda is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, born and raised on the eastern shore of Maryland. She began her nursing career in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she worked to stabilize the most critically ill patients. It is there that her interest in mental health flourished as she witnessed first-hand how essential mental health is for the overall wellbeing of her patients. She realized that there is no health without mental health. Lucy and her husband followed her passion for mental health to the University of Tennessee Knoxville where she obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in the psychiatric mental health specialty. The devotion she feels towards individuals suffering from a mental health disorder stems from the stigma that these patients face. In her own fight against the stigma surrounding mental illness, Lucy seeks to optimize each client’s strengths in order to fulfill goals associated with improved health outcomes.
Lucy’s passion for mental health enables her to treat patients across the lifespan, with a broad interest in mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders, schizophrenia, addiction, etc. One of her specific interests involves treating clients with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), one of the most cutting-edge alternatives to traditional medication management. Lucy believes in an interprofessional practice model, through which she provides high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with other healthcare providers and family members involved in the client’s life. Her holistic approach to healthcare connects the mind and body for clients to reach the highest possible quality of life. She emphasizes the importance of each individual therapeutic relationship in all of her patient encounters. In her free time, Lucy enjoys hiking, creating art, and spending quality time with her pets and her family.
